🌿 Note from Catalina:
This blog comes from a neurodivergent mind and an immigrant heart. It’s a mix of memories, plants, recipes, travels, and reflections—no straight lines, just stories from a brain that works differently.
I write to be the voice I once needed—for anyone who’s ever felt out of place, misunderstood, or too much. You’re not alone.
I’ve always hated the question:
“So… what do you do?”
Because honestly, how do I answer that?
Do I talk about herbs? My farm? My love for animals? My degree in Industrial Design? My obsession with learning? The candles, the soaps, the seed packs, the dried flowers, the loofahs? Or perhaps my recent interest in coding and machine learning?
I’ve tried to pick just one thing.
I’ve tried to be “just” a farmer. Or “just” an artist. Or “just” a small business owner.
But I always end up feeling restless, like I’m ignoring a huge part of myself.
So I looked it up.
There’s a word for this kind of person:
Multipotentialite.
It means someone who has many interests and creative paths — not just one true calling.
It’s not a flaw. It’s a trait.
A multipotentialite is someone who doesn’t just want to specialize — they can’t. Their brain lights up when they get to learn, make, explore, and grow in many directions.
And that’s me.
Here’s my truth:
I’m a woman who built a life on a five-acre farm in Florida…
But I’m also the same girl who moved from Medellín to New York chasing something more.
I love dogs and herbs and databases and design and food and rituals and stories.
Sometimes I build websites.
Sometimes I build raised beds.
Sometimes I just want to write.
And that’s why I’m here.
This blog is where I’m letting go of the pressure to choose just one thing.
I’m documenting this winding life — full of paws and plants, experiments and memories, detours and daydreams.
If you’ve ever felt like you don’t fit into one neat title —
If you’ve ever struggled with being “too much” or “not focused enough” —
Maybe you’re just like me.
Maybe you’re a garden with many roots.
And if so: welcome. You belong here.

Catalina (aka Catyobi)
